丹麦技术大学博士后职位招聘–实验微流体学
Job Description
You have a PhD in experimental microfluidics, and you wish to pursue applications within Life Sciences:
we offer a 2-year postdoctoral position in the “Nanofluidics and Bioimaging” group at the Department for health technology, DTU Health Tech is open from 1 October 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, in the project ‘MIGRAGEN: Using novel microfluidic gradient devices to drive genetic and functional understanding of spatiotemporal gradients in tumor microenvironments’.
The topic of the post doc project is microfluidics for spatial transcriptomics.
The vision for the Post Doc position is to establish a microfluidics platform for single cell culture and imaging.
The project builds upon our current work in the project MIGRAGEN, recently published in Science Advances: www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.adn3448 .
You will be part of the project MIGRAGEN, a highly interdisciplinary collaboration between four groups, located at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science (Prof. Stine F. Pedersen and Prof. Albin Sandelin), the Technical University of Denmark (Assoc. Prof. Rodolphe Marie) and Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing, Berlin (Prof. Ute Resch-Genger). You will be based in Rodolphe Marie’s group but will work closely with the two other postdoctoral fellows hired in parallel in the Falsig Pedersen and Sandelin groups. Together, the groups employ multiple postdocs, PhD students, and undergraduate students and provide a strong, international research environment.
Responsibilities and qualifications
As a postdoctoral fellow, you will be part of the Nanofluidics and Bioimaging group led by Associate Professor Rodolphe Marie. Please visit our homepage: Nanofluidics and Bioimaging group .
Your primary responsibility will be to drive interdisciplinary experimental research in Rodolphe Marie’s lab in collaboration with three other groups.
Your experimental work will involve working with:
- Design of microfluidics devices. Possibly, you will also have to make finite element simulations to assist the designing of the microfluidics but this is not the main focus of the position.
- Prototyping of microfluidics devices using cleanroom microfabrication and PDMS fabrication.
- Perform quantitative fluorescence measurements to characterize chemical gradients.
- Implement cell culture in the fabricated microfluidics platform.
- Supervise student projects in the lab (BSc and MSc level).
As a consequence, an essential requirement is a documented track record of strong scientific publications, experimental skills, and excellent written and spoken English. The candidate must be able to work autonomously as well as in a team and have a passion for working in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
We offer
DTU is a leading technical university globally recognized for the excellence of its research, education, innovation and scientific advice. We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment. We strive for academic excellence in an environment characterized by collegial respect and academic freedom tempered by responsibility.
Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 2 years. Starting date is 1 October 2024 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
