丹麦奥尔胡斯大学博士后职位招聘–合成有机化学或类似专业
Are you interested in organic synthesis and transition metal catalysis involving activation and deconstruction of strong chemical bonds, and can you contribute to the development and supervision of exploring novel findings within this field? Then the Skrydstrup Group at Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center, Aarhus University, invites you to apply for a fulltime two-year post doc position starting September 1st, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.
Job description
You will be contributing to developing new chemical transformations and finding novel reactivity’s in the field of organic synthesis and homogeneous transition metal catalysis, and you will be working primarily with developing new synthetic methods for breaking of strong chemical bonds to be used in recycling of polyurethane.
The position will focus on aspects of organic synthesis, organometallic chemistry and homogeneous transition metal catalysis, and you will be involved in independent and collaborative projects dealing with polyurethane recycling. These activities will be in close collaboration with other members of the Skrydstrup Group and partners in industry.
You will also be expected to help with supervision of bachelor, master and PhD students.
Your profile
- The candidate must have a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry or similar.
- If the candidate has post doc experience, it will be an advantage.
- The candidate is required to have a strong background in organic synthesis and homogeneous transition metal catalysis.
- The candidate must be familiar with organometallic chemistry.
- The candidate must be familiar with the chemistry involved in the recycling of polymers.
- The candidate must have good communication skills and preferably experience in writing drafts for publications.
- The candidate must have experience with international and industrial collaborations.
- The candidate must have experience in supervising graduate students.
- The candidate must be able to work both independently but also serve as an excellent team player.
Who we are
The candidate will be part of the Skrydstrup Group
, an international group consisting of 4 postdocs and 9 PhD students, among other students and academic and technical staff. The group is part of The Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO
), which was established in 2002.
What we offer
The successful candidate is offered:
- A well-developed research infrastructure, laboratories and access to shared equipment.
- An exciting interdisciplinary environment with many national, international and industrial collaborators.
- A research climate encouraging lively, open and critical discussion within and across different fields of research.
- A work environment with close working relationships, networking and social activities.
- A workplace characterised by professionalism, equality and a healthy work-life balance.
Place of work and area of employment
The place of work is Gustav Wieds Vej 14, 8000 Aarhus C, and the area of employment is Aarhus University with related departments.

Deadline
All applications must be received no later than June 10th, 2024.
Application procedure
Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him/her self. Once the recruitment process is completed a final letter of rejection is sent to the deselected applicants.
Letter of reference
If you want a referee to upload a letter of reference on your behalf, please state the referee’s contact information when you submit your application. We strongly recommend that you make an agreement with the person in question before you enter the referee’s contact information, and that you ensure that the referee has enough time to write the letter of reference before the application deadline. Unfortunately, it is not possible to ensure that letters of reference received after the application deadline will be taken into consideration.
