Postdoctoral Associate
Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics, or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience conducting research experiments in the field of quantitative finance, and developing and testing regularization techniques in portfolio optimization.
Brief Description of Duties:
The postdoctoral research associate will work with Dr. Jian Li in the Data Science Program with the Departments of Applied Mathematics and Statistics & Computer Science in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Stony Brook University. Please visit the DIENS lab for more information about research of the group and the department:
● Conduct fundamental research in machine learning (reinforcement learning and multi-armed bandits), optimization and control, with applications to wireless networks, autonomous systems, and societal networks.
● Prepare manuscripts for publications in peer reviewed conferences and journals.
● May supervise undergraduate and graduate students in research. Will provide training on specific specialized skills and research methods, and is responsible for the operation of the lab.
● Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
