The Filippakis Laboratory at the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNE COM), has post-doctoral positions available. The laboratory investigates mechanisms underlying aberrant metabolic processes in mTOR-driven tumors, with attention to therapeutic applications. The laboratory seeks creative and passionate team players, with a strong desire to impact human health. Projects in basic science and translational research are available.
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Fellow independently carries out and designs highly sophisticated and independent experiments. They will work in a laboratory space dedicated to the Principal Investigator with additional potential to establish successful project-specific collaborations in a variety of directions. The laboratory is located in the Biddeford campus and is part of the newly NIH-funded COBRE Center for Cell Signaling Research (CCSR). The collaborative research environment at UNE COM coupled with the highly innovative research centers on campus contribute to an active training environment that nurtures career development.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have recently completed graduate studies in a PhD or MD/PhD program and a strong background in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology is preferred. Candidates with experience in molecular biology, metabolism and cell signaling are encouraged to apply. Proven technical skills in molecular biology, signal transduction, gene and protein expression, and murine models are required.

- Laboratory practice that is strictly compliant with safety protocols.
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively with faculty, research assistants, administrative assistants, students, and other personnel.
