英国伦敦玛丽女王大学博士后职位招聘–细胞生物学或相关领域
Overview
About the role
The Post-Doctoral Research Assistant will be a highly motivated individual keen on a Cell Biology research career. Using cutting-edge Super-resolution microscopy, the PDRA will explore how human cells maintain their chromosomes.
Chromosomal instability (CIN) is a hallmark of cancers and arises from errors in the process of chromosome segregation. However, the precise molecular reasons for CIN remain unclear. This project aims to track the molecular and biochemical changes that control chromosome segregation accuracy. The findings will expand our basic understanding of mitosis and help design strategies to tackle CIN.
About you
The PDRA will have a PhD (or be close to completion) in Cell Biology or a related area, with extensive experience in Microscopy and Molecular biology. Some experience in Biochemistry or Microscopy techniques would be valuable but not essential. The candidate will be strongly supported to build research fellowship applications and/or industry collaborations.
About the School
The School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences is divided into three departments – Biochemistry, Biology and Psychology and is home to over 100 academic staff, 45 postdoctoral researchers, 28 administrative staff and around 30 technicians. We provide a supportive and friendly environment with a multi-disciplinary approach to teaching and research. We have strong links with industry, offering students a stimulating and supportive learning experience.
About Queen Mary
At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable.
Throughout our history, we’ve fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers.
Our reformer heritage informs our conviction that great ideas can and should come from anywhere. It’s an approach that has brought results across the globe, from the communities of east London to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.
