Job Description

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the area of natural product biosynthesis at the University of Florida. Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary research team to identify bioactive small molecules in nematodes using comparative metabolomics and NMR spectroscopy and to study their biosynthesis and biological activity. A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, or a closely related field is required.

The candidate should be eager to use chemistry expertise to solve biological problems and should have training in one of the following:

(1) the use of protein biochemistry to study natural product biosynthesis

(2) the use of HPLC, LC/MS and NMR spectroscopy and/or comparative metabolomics to identify natural products and study their biosynthesis.

The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to publish results and a willingness to collaborate with others.
