丹麦技术大学博士后职位招聘–交通科学、经济学、数学、社会数据科学、地理、城市规划或相关学科
We are seeking a candidate to join our research team as a Postdoctoral researcher. You will play a key role in a cutting-edge research project, “Passenger Centric Design Standard for Public Transport Terminals”. The project will create an evidence-based foundation on passengers perceived safety, preferences, route choice and overall mode choice. It utilises GPS-trajectories of passengers passing through terminals, wristband measurements of stress-levels combined with aggregate survey data to obtain new insights on passenger behaviour. To link this with the design and urban surroundings, we will use image recognition and machine learning to create a digital model of terminals and their surroundings.
The postdoc is intended to generate such model of the urban environment around terminals, use a variety of statistical methods and models for analysing data, and estimate behavioural models to reveal passenger preferences. The project is funded by ”Danish Standard”, and the intention is to provide more concrete evidence-based recommendations for public transport terminal designs.
Responsibilities and qualifications
The project is led by Professor Otto Anker Nielsen together with Associate Professor Jesper Bláfoss Ingvardson, in close coordination with other projects at the division involving faculty as well as PhD-students. Your primary tasks will be to:
- Develop a digital model of urban surroundings around stations using mathematical and machine learning methods
- Process and analyse large-scale datasets available in the project
- Develop mathematical models that can explain the measured perceptions by attributes describing public transport terminals and their surroundings
- Develop choice models to provide new insights into the influence of urban surroundings and perceptions of this on traveller behaviour.
- Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present results at conferences.
- Provide specific recommendations that may lead to new standard or guidelines for public terminal design
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in transportation science, economics, mathematics, social data science, geography, urban planning or a related discipline. You preferably have experience with choice modelling, and have good knowledge of statistical modelling and data analysis of large datasets.
Furthermore, you should have demonstrated the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a research team.
Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 2½ years. The starting date is as soon as possible given any date of finishing PhD, getting work permit in Denmark and moving, preferable no later than 1 August 2024.
