美国路易斯维尔大学博士后职位招聘–分子微生物学、微生物学、免疫学或相关领域
Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available at Dr. Shirin Ghods’s laboratory.
Dr. Ghodsi’s lab is dedicated to unraveling the pathogenesis of oral pathogens, focusing on Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), and exploring host-pathogen interactions with an emphasis on pathogenic anaerobes inducing gum inflammation and their implications in systemic inflammatory diseases.
Our research delves deeply into understanding the intricate molecular mechanisms driving Pg pathogenesis, particularly at the transcriptomic and metabolomic levels. We explore Pg’s virulence factors, pivotal environmental changes, and stressors that regulate Pg pathogenesis. By employing system-based and interdisciplinary approaches, our goal is to delve into the intricate role of certain factors in the progression of periodontal pathogens and the development of gum tissue inflammation.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in molecular microbiology, microbiology, immunology, or a related field, accompanied by relevant technical and laboratory experiences. The ideal candidate will spearhead molecular and cellular biology experiments, employing various techniques such as tissue culture, microbiology, genetic engineering, transcriptomics, and metabolomics.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and familiarity with animal models is advantageous. Prior hands-on experience with Pg is highly valued. Effective collaboration within research projects, robust teamwork skills, and excellent communication abilities are integral. We actively encourage the presentation and recommendation of novel ideas for our ongoing research pursuits.
Interested candidates are welcome to submit their CVs to: shirin.ghods@louisville.edu
