Postdoctoral Fellowship Position in Tumor Immunology/Immunotherapy at the Duke Cancer Institute
The Hanks Lab is a basic/translational research lab in the Duke Cancer Institute and the Departments of Medicine and Pharmacology and Cancer Biology at Duke University with an interest in understanding molecular and cellular mechanisms that drive cancer immune evasion, immunotherapy resistance, as well as immunotherapy-associated toxicity. We are currently seeking a motivated, hardworking Post-Doctoral Candidate with a background and interest in immunology. This individual will help support studies focused on understanding the role of tolerogenic dendritic cells in cancer immune evasion and will spearhead the development of novel therapeutic strategies for manipulating this cell population in vivo. This will be a two-year minimum position. The candidate will be expected to work independently but will be capable of collaborating with other lab members in a team-oriented work environment. Competitive candidates will be able to assist with the writing of research grant proposals. Additional compensation will be made available to those who obtain external funding. Recent Ph.D. graduates preferred.
Initial salary will be based on post-doctoral experience. Stipends will be evaluated annually for raises based on performance. http://www.thehankslab.com

- Significant experience in multi-parameter flow cytometry and in the design of cell-based immunology assays
- Significant experience working with murine cancer models
- Previous experience conducting epigenetic studies preferred.
- Previous experience using CRISPR/Cas9-based methods preferred.
- Previous experience in cloning and lentivirus engineering preferred.
- Previous grant/manuscript writing experience will be heavily favored. Examples of writing may be requested.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with outstanding organizational and analytical abilities
