丹麦哥本哈根大学博士后职位招聘–人类或兽医学或密切相关学科
University of Copenhagen
We are looking to hire a highly motivated and dynamic Postdoc to join the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. The start date is February 1, 2024.
Background
Our researchers share a common purpose as they seek to transform the basic understanding of the mechanisms involved in cardiometabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge towards new prevention and treatment strategies.
The Center has around 260 employees, spread across 21 research groups and 5 technology platforms, who work in a vibrant international research environment with a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration.
The Center’s research has resulted in seminal discoveries as to how genes, hormones, and environmental factors influence metabolic health and disease throughout life. You can read more about CBMR at www.cbmr.ku.dk .
Our group and research
The Pers Group aims to identify molecular processes driving susceptibility to obesity and type 2 diabetes with a particular focus on molecular pathways mediating polygenic risk through brain circuits. We have a highly dedicated and collaborative team of researchers with experience in both computational and experimental techniques. The successful applicant will enjoy a supportive and mentoring principal investigator.
Your job
The overall aim of the project is to identify neuronal cell types impacting weight regulation through hindbrain and hypothalamic brain circuits. Specifically, you would develop and apply virus-driven single-cell approaches to trace neuronal connections between relevant cell populations across the brain using rodent animal models. Apart from conducting in vivo studies, you would help to develop novel tracing approaches, analyse the resulting single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data, and write and submit scientific manuscripts.
Skills and qualifications
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher who has the following skills and qualifications:
- A PhD in human or veterinary medicine or a closely related discipline.
- A strong background in performing brain injections and virus-based tracing studies.
- A strong computational background and expertise in dealing with single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data.
- Experience in R or Python scripting.
- Multiple first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
Place of employment
The place of employment is at Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, Maersk Tower, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment.
Terms of employment
The employment as Postdoc is a full time and fixed-term position for 1 year and 8 months. The start date is February 1, 2024, or after agreement.
Salary, pension, and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated.
Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions if they hold a PhD degree and have not been tax liable to Denmark the last 10 years.
The position is covered by the “Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at the Universities” from 2000.
