Position 1:
CRISPR/Cas systems, Base editing/Prime editing/Gene Editing, Protein Engineering. Seeking a post-doctoral fellow to work on innovative protein engineering projects to develop new CRISPR/Cas-based tools for use in mammalian cells. The successful applicant will have a PhD in molecular biology or a related field (biochemistry, pharmacology, cell biology).
In addition, they will have documented proficiency (through publications) with general molecular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, PCR, western blot analysis, and a track record of research excellence. Other required skills for this position include past experience performing protein engineering and mammalian cell culture. Additional preferred but not required qualifications include previous expertise with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing systems, next-generation DNA sequencing, and DNA damage assays.
Position 2:
Xenobiology, Synthetic Biology, Molecular Biology/Genetics.
Seeking a post-doctoral fellow to lead an on-going synthetic biology study investigating the use and applications of xenonucleic acids (chemically-modified nucleotides) in prokaryotes. In addition to carrying out experiments using CRISPR technology, adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE), and -omics techniques (e.g. RNA-seq), the postdoc will liaise with an international and interdisciplinary team of collaborators with expertise in machine learning/molecular modelling and synthetic organic chemistry.
The successful applicant will have a PhD in molecular biology or a related field (biochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology). In addition, they will have documented proficiency (through publications) with general molecular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, PCR, western blot analysis, and a track record of research excellence. Other required skills for this position include past experience culturing microbes (E. coli) and performing adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) experiments with bacteria using turbidostat or chemostat methods. Additional preferred but not required qualifications include the ability to carry out next-generation DNA and RNA sequencing.
Salary: $50,000 CAD
