Job Description
This position will provide advanced biostatistical support to the University of Louisville (UofL) Health Brown Cancer Center (BCC). BCC has the mission to generate new knowledge relating to the nature of cancer, and to create new and more effective approaches to prevention, diagnosis and therapy while delivering medical advances with compassion and respect to cancer patients. The primary responsibility of this position will be to apply advanced statistical methods in clinical trial designs, develop predictive models using different types of data (e.g., cytometry data, omics data, and clinical data), and evaluate causal effect and personalized treatment based on randomized controlled trials and real-world data. This position will get involved in all aspects of statistical considerations from early phase engagement, data management, data analysis, to the final stage of research report and scientific dissemination from a variety of research projects (clinical and pre-clinical) in BCC.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics, Applied Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field is essential. Candidates are expected to have a strong educational foundation and/or hands-on experience in the realms of clinical trial design and survival analyses.
• Proficiency in statistical programming using tools like R and SAS is crucial. Additionally, candidates should have a track record of effectively working with large-scale data.
• Demonstrated excellence in statistical consulting and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Effective team player and ability to work independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely related field, with 0 to 3 years of applicable experience. A foundational education and practical familiarity with clinical trial design and survival analyses are prerequisites. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for the successful candidate.
