Job Description

The Fan lab at the Departments of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of California, Davis, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar – Employee position on biomass processing and fermentation.

Dr. Fan’s primary research interests are advancing technologies for producing fuels and chemicals from renewable resources, including metabolic engineering, biocatalyst development, biomass pretreatment, fermentation process development, and modeling. The postdoctoral scholar will work on an exciting biomass pretreatment and fermentation projects.

Position Qualifications: A Ph.D. with a strong background in biomass pretreatment and fermentation is required. Experiences with solid state fermentation, process modeling and economic analysis are a plus.
