Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Statistical Genomics at the University of Pennsylvania

Duties and Responsibilities

A postdoc position is immediately available under the direction of Dr. Mingyao Li, within the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics, Perelman School of Medicine, at the University of Pennsylvania. The length of the position is flexible and can range from two to three years. This position emphasizes on statistical and machine learning algorithm development for genomics data analysis. The data types that we are interested in include spatial transcriptomics, multiplexed imaging, single-cell genomics, and the integration of these data. The postdoc will receive dedicated mentorship, and the position is intended to prepare the postdoc for successful placement in an academic tenure-track appointment at a major research university.

Position Qualifications: 

1) PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

2) Strong methodological and theoretical training in statistics and machine learning. 

3) Proficient in Python and R programming.

4) Experience with software packages for machine learning. 5) Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
