About the lab
Dr. Maverakis is the PI of an NIH-funded laboratory with projects focused on autoimmunity, immunotherapy, precision medicine, skin biology, and ancillary studies to clinical trials (e.g. NHL, HIV, autoimmunity trials). The Maverakis lab is currently located on the UC Davis medical campus in Sacramento.

The laboratory is a stand alone resource for advanced transcriptomic studies (sample collection, tissue processing, single-cell and bulk RNA-seq library preparation, DNA sequencing, and bioinformatic analysis). It is equipped with a state-of-the-art high parameter flow cytometer, the latest 10X chromium controller, Illumina DNA sequencer, and automated robotic liquid handlers.

The Maverakis lab has a strong track record of successfully mentoring lab members, facilitating their transition to more senior positions in academia and industry. Numerous assistant professors and research scientists have come from the lab.

Requirements
PhD in cell biology, immunology, biochemistry or equivalent. MD candidates with appropriate training in immunology will also be considered.

There will be a strong preference for applicants with extensive experience in FLOW CYTOMETRY, especially high-parameter flow cytometry.
