The Georgetown University laboratory of Dr. Barry Hudson is seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow with a research interest in breast cancer metastasis and the role of the tumor microenvironment.
The candidate will join a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative group with projects in basic, translational and clinical research. Our research efforts are focused on understanding tumor intrinsic and host-mediated mechanisms (including diabetes, obesity and stress) that drive breast cancer progression and metastasis.
Objectives will be to understand how the Receptor for Advanced Glycation End products (RAGE) drives increased breast cancer metastasis, and the pre-clinical testing and development of RAGE therapeutics.
Qualifications:
•Highly motivated individuals with Ph.D. or M.D. degrees (or will get Ph.D. or M.D. degrees by August 2021)
•At least one first author research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
•Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
Preferred qualifications:
•Strong research background and training in cancer biology preferred
•Research experience with in vivo Mouse Models of cancer and ex vivo analysis of immune cells by flow cytometry is required.
•Experience with cell culture, and Molecular Biology techniques such as tumor cell functional assays, qPCR, Western Blot, is required.
•The ability to work as part of a highly collaborative team is a critical requirement
