Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow First 1000 Days, Yorkshire
University of Leeds

Job Description
Are you interested in improving the long-term development and life chances of children born into disadvantaged communities? Do you have experience working on interventional research projects?
We are recruiting two Research Fellows/Senior Research Fellows to work on the ‘First 1000 Days, Yorkshire’ project, a transformational programme of work to improve the long-term development and life chances of children born into some of Britain’s most disadvantaged communities. Funded by a substantial donation from an individual donor, the project will harness expertise from research groups across the University and work with a range of regional and international partners. This programme has differing workstreams that represent a holistic approach to the crucial first 1000 days of a child’s life. The aim for these work streams, is to develop an overarching intervention that may influence and inform national policy, especially around how supporting early parenting can impact language and cognitive development, healthy behaviours, and support for disabilities. Demonstrating the value of the intervention will be critical to the long-term impact of this work.
You will be responsible for the First 1000 Days research activities which will include conducting a situational analysis, setting up a large-scale intervention, and undertaking qualitative and/or quantitative evaluations.
