瑞典哥德堡大学博士后职位—心血管人工智能
Postdoctor In Cardiovascular Artificial Intelligence
Göteborg University
The University of Gothenburg tackles society’s challenges with diverse knowledge. 56 000 students and 6 600 employees make the university a large and inspiring place to work and study. Strong research and attractive study programmes attract scientists and students from around the world. With new knowledge and new perspectives, the University contributes to a better future.
The Department of Molecular and Clinical Medicine, at the Institute of Medicine, conducts translational research primarily on metabolism, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease in order to improve health and healthcare in the community. The overall goal is to create an excellent translational research environment of a very high international standard.
For a research group at the Department, we are looking for two qualified postdoctoral researchers with experience in machine learning (deep learning), handling imaging data and Python. Our research group consists of approximately 10 persons and includes PhD-students, physicians, senior researchers, and biomedical analysts. We use modern analytical methods and randomized experiments to conduct translational research that can benefit patients quickly. As a postdoc in our group, you will be leading the technical effort to create machine learning models that predict sudden cardiac death and severity of coronary artery disease using imaging data. You will be working with some of the world’s largest databases in the field and in a team with vast experience. The research group has a large international collaborative network and is aiming to become a leading group in research related to cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease.
Subject area
Cardiovascular artificial intelligence.
Subject area description
Development, validation and deployment of clinical tools based on machine learning and randomized experiments.
Duties
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for modeling complex clinical data, discovering novel methods to predict cardiac arrest and coronary blood flow using imaging data. The work includes collaboration with colleagues in various disciplines, for example clinicians and engineers. Present proposals and results in a clear manner backed by data and coupled with actionable conclusions.
Duties
Lead the effort to unravel novel methods to predict cardiac arrest, quantify coronary blood flow, and create non-invasive calculations of blood flow.
Lead an effort to establish a scalable data science environment to handle this type of data.
Design the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to gather information from relevant databases.
Maintain documentation and training materials.
Participate in discussions with other users, including clinicians, clinical researchers, and administrators.
Eligibility
To qualify as a postdoctoral researcher the applicant should hold a PhD in a relevant subject. Since postdoctoral constitutes a qualifying appointment for junior researchers, we aim to target those who have a doctoral degree not older than 3 years.
Assessment criteria
Requirements
Advanced analytical skills, knowledge of integrating and processing large, multimodal databases and managing a computational environment are required.
PhD in machine learning or other relevant areas to the position is required. Expert-level knowledge in Python is required, as is knowledge in PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar. Emphasis will also be placed on ability to collaborate in cross-professional groups and taking initiatives. Good knowledge in english, both speaking and writing, is a requirement. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Employment
Type of employment: Fixed-term employment, 24 months Extent: 100 % Location: Institute of Medicine, Gothenburg First day of employment: According to agreement.
