Postdoctoral Research Associate in Medicinal Chemistry

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on a research project entitled “Degrader compounds for the oncogenic transcription factor LMO2”, working under the supervision of Professor Angela Russell for a period of 18 months. This project is funded by Cancer Research UK and is carried out in close collaboration with the groups of Professor Terry Rabbitts (Institute for Cancer Research) and Dr Andrew Turnbull (Cancer Research Horizons Therapeutic Innovation).
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary collaboration with world leading researchers and contribute to the development of an innovative new therapeutic approach for T-ALL, an area of significant unmet medical need.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or Chemical Biology or a related area (or be close to completion prior to taking up your appointment). You should have expertise in the production of compounds for a collaborative project. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work for presentations, publications and deadlines. You will test hypothesis and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypothesis as required.
