The University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago invites applications for postdoctoral fellowship positions in stem cell- based tissue engineering, microfluidic modeling of lungs, cellular mechanics, imaging of lungs, bioinformatics and systems biology, novel approaches to treating inflammatory diseases, drug discovery, nanotechnology, cell mechanics, and Covid-19 therapy on our T32 Postdoctoral Training Program. Trainees, will be matched with an appropriate faculty mentor for their postdoctoral training (see http://mcph.uic.edu/lungt32/ for eligible faculty). The 39 faculty mentors are drawn from the College of Medicine, College of Engineering, College of Pharmacy, and College of Arts & Sciences. This program provides up to 3-years of state-of-the-art research training, stipend at NIH-levels, funding for conference travel, and some reimbursement for childcare expenses.
This program, currently in its 29th year and led by Program Director Dr. Asrar B. Malik, was borne out of our commitment to providing research training opportunities. Our pre-eminent goal is to provide state-of-the-art research training for an outstanding group of predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees.

Qualifications:
A PhD, MD, PharmD, or MD/PhD degree is required. Experience with biomedical research is also highly desirable. Competitive candidates will have a publication record and excellent communication skills. Due to NIH regulations, candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents.
