The Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Neuroscience Ethics at the Technical University of Munich headed by Prof. Marcello Ienca is looking for an outstanding Postdoc researcher interested in joining the group and pursuing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of AI, neurosciences and social sciences.
The position is fully funded (salary scale TV-L E 13 of the German public sector depending on previous experience) and part-time (50%). Candidates who subsequently wish for a full-time position will have the opportunity to apply for complementary grants (e.g. Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowships, TUM Global Postdoc Fellowships, Humboldt Research Fellowships etc.) with the support of the PI. In addition, the selected candidate will also be part of the Institute for Ethics and History of Medicine and will have the opportunity to interact with other members of the institute.
Requirements:
Very good knowledge of written and spoken English (your responsibilities include to write publications and to give international presentations)
Postgraduate competence (PhD degree or similar) in one of the following fields: psychology and neuroscience, computer science and engineering, medicine, quantitative social sciences
Interest and intellectual curiosity in the ethical and social implications of emerging technologies (especially AI, robotics, neurotechnology, big data and wearable computing)
Desire to conduct interdisciplinary research using both theoretical and experimental methods – Good knowledge of statistical methods
Good knowledge of machine learning /data mining in science
Good programming skills in at least one programming language (preferably Python)
Knowledge of the German language is encouraged but not required.
