英国威斯敏斯特大学博士后职位—计算机科学
Research Fellow- Computer ScienceUniversity of Westminster
The University of Westminster has been engaged in air transport research, consultancy and teaching for over 40 years. The Centre for Air Traffic Management Research is located within the School of Architecture and Cities, based at our Marylebone campus, in central London. ATM has been a core area of research for over 20 years, with a very strong international reputation and with particular emphases on economics, operations, data analysis, modelling and performance. We are looking to consolidate this research area through the appointment of a Research Fellow.
The postholder will work on new projects with the air traffic management team, led by Professor Andrew Cook. The position requires individual and collaborative research, contributions to research bids, co-authored publication work and activities to promote impact and extend the team’s research portfolio, with a high standard of written and spoken English.
In particular, demonstrated evidence of an ability to work independently on solutions to complex problems in the context of managing large datasets and working concurrently with several teams is essential.
The candidate must be an experienced programmer with extensive experience of C, Python, SQL, cloud data services, data management (storage, cleaning, fusion) and software engineering. Proficiency in critically analysing large datasets and clearly presenting the results is required.
Knowledge of other programming languages would be an advantage, as would experience in: optimisation techniques (e.g. integer programming; mixed- integer, heuristics methods such as particle swarm or evolutionary algorithms); agent-based modelling; linear and non-linear regression/classification; reinforcement learning, machine learning.
Domain knowledge in ATM, aviation or other transportation modes (e.g. rail) would also be an advantage, but not a pre-requisite, as training will be given in post.
