美国东北大学博士后职位招聘–生物化学、分子生物学、电生理学、结构生物学或相关领域
Job Description
About the Opportunity:
The Logothetis/Cui Lab at Northeastern University seeks an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to join the lab. The research focus will be on studies of structure and function of membrane proteins, such as, ion channels and GPCRs, using molecular biology, electrophysiology, and molecular modeling and simulation approaches. This is anticipated to be a two-year position.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility is to perform basic research on ion channels and GPCRs, to understand how small molecules modulate the protein function, and therefore to design better drug molecules with improved potency and selectivity. The approaches to be used include patch clamp, two-electrode voltage clamp (TEVC), and calcium mobilization functional assays. Molecular biology, mutagenesis, biochemistry and familiarity with atomic resolution structures are desirable. The postdoc is expected to design and conduct experiments, to collect and analyze data, write research papers, present research at meetings, and mentoring graduate students.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, electrophysiology, structural biology or a closely related field. The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and be highly motivated toward a research career.
How to Apply:
Submit a cover letter, a full CV with a publication list, experiences, skills, and the contact information of three references.
