Postdoctoral Researcher position is available at Penn State University
Research Focus and Summary of Position:
The Olmez lab (PI: Inan Olmez, https://cancer.psu.edu/researchers/individual/-/researcher/D2DC8278382F7D90E053C90D1DAC9043/inan-olmez-md) at the Penn State University is looking for 2 highly self-motivated postdoctoral researchers to study the biology and immunology of brain metastasis from lung and breast cancers.
With 2 recent federal funding, the Olmez lab is expanding by adding 2 post-docs. The researchers will work on projects related to the immunology of brain metastasis from breast and lung cancers. In particular, we are interested in understanding the mechanisms of immune evasion in brain metastases.
We also have other projects on cancer biology.
Projects include:
1- The interaction between neurons and metastatic cancer cells
2- The role of Notch pathway in the development of brain metastasis
3- Understanding the mechanism of immunosuppression in brain metastases
The researcher should be comfortable with immunofluorescence microscopy, cell culturing, IHC, protein biochemistry & molecular biology technique, and mouse studies. Those with experience in neuroscience and immunology are especially encouraged to apply.
In addition to adopting, implementing and developing laboratory methods, the researchers are expected to participate in grant writing and train staff in basic and advanced laboratory techniques.
The Olmez lab has access to all the shared resources to assist with experiments, including but not limited to Biostatistics, Microscopy, Pathology, Medicinal Chemistry, Genomics and Proteomics.
