The Kuo lab in the Department of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior at the University of California at Davis invites qualified applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship. The aim of the research is to elucidate mechanisms of type 2 diabetes, with a focus on pancreatic beta cell biology. Candidate with an expertise in molecular biology, physiology, genetics, epigenetics, and/or programming are encouraged to apply. Excellent written and verbal skills and strong work ethic are required. Applicants should have received their Ph.D. before the start of the position.
Essential skills, knowledge and abilities: Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
Education requirements: A Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, bioinformatics or a related field is required for this position.
Qualifications: Experience in handling mice is preferred. Experience in cell culture is preferred. Programming skills are preferred. Experience in pancreatic beta cell studies and diabetes is preferred.
