About This Opportunity
This major ARC funded fellowship aims to explain, predict and change consumer behaviour in enjoyment-focused contexts – such as vacations – to be more environmentally responsible. In advancing this significant research, the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work closely with the ARC Laureate Fellow, contributing to collaborative research outcomes.
This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.
About You
With a demonstrated ability to work collegiately in a research team and conducting and analysing quantitative research, including advanced analytic techniques, you should have completed or submitted for examination a PhD (preferably in behavioural sciences, psychology, economics, sociology, tourism or business studies). Evidence of research activity and publications in high quality journals, relative to opportunity is essential to the role. You should demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation and strong work ethic, in addition to your ability to establish effective relationships internally and external to the university. As well as being able to demonstrate the following:
Completed or submitted for examination a PhD (preferably in behavioural sciences, psychology, economics, sociology, business studies or tourism, but other educational backgrounds will be considered)
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a research team and experience in conducting and analysing quantitative research, including advanced analytic techniques.
Evidence of research activity and publications in high quality journals, relative to opportunity.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a strong ethic of project delivery and reporting to specification.
A collegiate, collaborative mindset, an ability to establish effective relationships and to represent and promote the research area at a university and wider community level, including industry, government and professional bodies.
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a multidisciplinary background.
Ability to translate constructive criticism into research improvements.

What We Can Offer
This is a full-time, fixed term position for up to 12 months at Academic level A.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $72,144.35 – $96,530.67 per annum, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $84,408.9 – $112,940. per annum.
