This individual will conduct experimental research in a microbiology laboratory to do basic research in tick-host-pathogen interactions in mouse models of infection and to develop vaccines and diagnostic assays for Lyme disease and Leptospirosis.

Qualifications
PhD/MD or equivalent degree in the areas of Biology, Biochemistry and related fields.
Must be highly skilled and knowledgeable in common microbiology, molecular biology, and some basic immunology techniques. Must have the ability to work with animals (mice) and function with minimal daily supervision under BSL2 conditions. Must have excellent oral and communication skills. Must be skilled in developing new SOPs as needed. Must have the ability to learn new techniques and adapt them to the instrumentation present in the lab.
