Postdoctoral Research Assistant
University of Oxford
Description
Department of Physics, Clarendon Laboratory, Parks Road, Oxford
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in exoplanet atmospheric science.
The post is available initially for a fixed-term duration of 12 months.
This project will improve modelling capacities of exoplanet atmospheres and contribute to the analysis of JWST data
The successful candidate will improve the flexibility of the radiative transfer scheme of the SPARC/MITgcm and contribute to the analysis of the JWST phase curve of the hot Jupiter NGTS-10b.
The post-holder will have the opportunity to teach.
Applicants should hold a PhD, or be close to completion in astrophysics or related fields and have a strong background in exoplanet atmospheres.
Previous experience in radiative transfer modelling of exoplanet atmospheres will be an advantage.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate familiarity with atmospheric modelling and interpretation of exoplanet atmosphere observations.
Please direct enquiries about the role to Vivien Parmentier (vivien.parmentier@physics.ox.ac.uk)
Only applications received before midday (UK time) 26 July 2022 can be considered. You will be required to upload a statement of research interests, CV and details of two referees as part of your online application.
