西奈山伊坎医学院博士后研究员职位–细胞和分子生物学或相关领域
Postdoctoral Fellow
A position for a Postdoctoral Fellow is available in the Wagenblast Lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY starting in the Summer/Fall 2022. The central question of our lab is to understand how a normal blood stem cell can become cancerous. We develop and apply cutting-edge CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing approaches in human primary blood stem cells to model the pre-leukemic and leukemic phases of acute myeloid leukemia in vivo. The goal is to uncover insights into the genetic, cellular and developmental mechanisms of childhood leukemia and to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities of the disease. Recent relevant papers include Wagenblast et al. 2021 Science and Wagenblast et al. 2019 Nat. Commun. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to advance our modeling approaches of acute myeloid leukemia to characterize how the developmental context of the cell of origin drives differences in leukemic transformation between childhood and adult leukemia.
Candidates must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in cell and molecular biology or a related field. The ideal candidate should have experience with tissue culture and molecular biology, and be passionate about blood stem cells and cancer biology. We encourage applications from underrepresented or minority groups.
Our lab is located within the Mount Sinai Campus, east of Central Park in Manhattan, surrounded by world-class stem cell and cancer labs, state-of-the-art infrastructure and support. The School is one of the nation’s leading medical schools, ranked in the top 20 schools for NIH funding. We are committed to establishing a collegiate, stimulating, diverse and equitable environment in our lab to allow everyone to achieve their goals and advance their careers.
Qualified applicants should send a letter describing their current and future research interests, their CV and names and contact details for two to three references to Elvin.Wagenblast@mssm.edu. More information about the lab can be found here: https://www.wagenblastlab.com/
