SALARY LEVEL: Salary is determined based on PhD receipt date according to a set salary schedule, which begins at $54,080.00 up to a maximum of $59,000.00 plus benefits.
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Neurovascular Research Program at Huntington Medical Research Institutes (HMRI), Pasadena, California, to investigate novel GABA signaling mechanisms during brain development. The project will examine the key fundamental mechanisms of action of vascular signaling components during the developmental period and how these differentially shapes blood flow and adult behavioral paradigms. We welcome applications from highly motivated and independent-minded individuals. Candidates must have a PhD degree in biology, with expertise in Neuroscience, Cell Biology or Vascular Biology. Candidates with a good track record of publications, and experience in endothelial cell culture, mouse genetic models, and tamoxifen administration will be given priority. Experience in small animal handling and surgery is a prerequisite. The candidate must have effective communications skills and an aptitude for mentoring students. The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of extension. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, laboratory experience, and institutional guidelines.
