美国加州大学圣地亚哥分校博士后职位——心血管生物学
Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Cardiovascular Biology at University of California San Diego
Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Cardiovascular Biology to Define Mechanisms and Therapeutics Underlying Genetic-Based Cardiomyopathy at the University of California San Diego.
The laboratory’s research interests are on understanding the molecular basis of genetic based cardiomyopathies, which are prevalent in athletes who exhibit sudden death. Postdoctoral position will seek to exploit genetically engineered mouse models and human induced pluripotent stem cells, state-of-the-art miniaturized physiological technology and range of molecular (including genome editing techniques, yeast-two-hybrid) and cell biology techniques (interdisciplinary approaches) to uncover novel regulators of the disease (see recent publication from Liang Y et al., J Clin Invest, 2021). The laboratory also has a translational arm to design and test strategies for rescuing cardiomyopathies using gene therapy approaches for in-man applications with active industry partnerships to move these approaches to ARVC patient populations. The Sheikh lab is currently funded by NIH/NHLBI and Department of Defense as well as industry grants.
The UC San Diego Cardiovascular Medicine Division is renowned for the success in training young investigators, as exemplified by the excellent training records of the faculty members. UC
