Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Postdoctoral Clinical Associate (postdoc) will work closely with the Clinic Director who will oversee the candidate’s clinical and supervisory activities. The postdoc will also work with the graduate student clinicians in a training and supervisory capacity as the students build their clinical competencies in areas including but not limited to evidence-based therapy modalities, administration neuropsychological tests, and best practices in clinical documentation/report writing. The postdoc will also have administrative duties including but not limited to coordinating and overseeing the administrative duties of graduate assistants working in GPAC. Further, the postdoctoral candidate will interact with GPAC clients seeking services at the clinic. These interactions may include phone screens for eligibility, managing risk-related concerns, and working directly with the clients to provide services (i.e., serving as the therapist or assessor; these activities will be supervised by licensed psychologist).

This position is a 1-year time-limited appointment with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. Expected start date is July 1, 2022. Date may be adjusted based on completion of hire.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
• Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Cognitive Behavioral Orientation in curriculum and practice. Advanced/substantial clinical psychology experience in evidence-based individual psychotherapy (CBT-based interventions), ADHD/Learning Disability assessments (including administration of WAIS and WIAT), and risk assessment/management
• Prior experience supervising and/or teaching students in the field of clinical psychology Interest/willingness to assist with clinic administration
• Clinical experience and competence in working with diverse populations

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Accumulated 1,750 hours (minimum) of pre-doctoral clinical experience conducted in the course of a psychology internship and satisfaction of all the requirements for a Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology (from the incumbent’s institution) prior to applying for the post-doctoral fellowship. Of the practicum hours, a minimum of 1,000 should include direct face-to-face treatment.
• Experience with grant and manuscript writing
• Experience with supervising support staff and/or trainees
• Clinical psychology publications in peer reviewed journals

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The General Psychotherapy and Assessment Clinic (GPAC) is a doctoral student training clinic. Graduate students in the General Clinical doctoral program train and provide evidence-based therapy and assessment services (e.g., diagnostic interviews; ADHD / learning disability testing) to adults in the Wilmington community. The clinic is housed within the UNCW psychology building (Teaching Lab Building) and managed by the Clinic Director who supervises the majority of the cases seen in GPAC.

College/School Information
The College of Arts and Sciences is UNCW’s largest academic unit, employing 450 full-time and 150 part-time faculty members and awarding approximately two-thirds of the university’s academic credits. Ours is a comprehensive arts & sciences college comprising the arts, the humanities, the mathematical and natural sciences, and the social and behavioral sciences.
