Postdoctoral position in mechanisms and therapeutic discovery for neurodegeneration

A postdoctoral position is available at the University of California, San Francisco, in phenotype-based drug discovery and the mechanisms of neurodegeneration. The applicant will join a vibrant brain science laboratory and lead an effort in drug discovery and neurodegeneration. Both in vitro cell-based and in vivo animal model-based approaches (zebrafish and rodents) will be considered. Some examples of our published work include: Dong et al., Neuron 2012; Sun et al. Elife 2013; Zhao et al., Science Adv. 2021, Kim et al., Elife 2021). The successful applicant should have a recent PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degrees in relevant fields and high quality publications in peer-reviewed journals. The following prior experience is desirable: animal models (in particular, rodents), chemistry, pharmacology, screening, neurodegeneration, and computational data analytical skills.
