Postdoc in Energy and Sustainable Built Environment
The world has been facing extreme climatic conditions viz. extreme high or low precipitation, extreme temperature rises, heat waves, storms, sea level rise as a consequences of Global Warming. On the other hand, world is struggling to meet the SDGs goal 7 in terms of providing sustainable energy access and enhancing energy efficiency. In this pretext, Linnaeus University, Department of Built Environment & Energy Technology, is searching for a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on how digital tools can help in addressing energy sustainability, and climate mitigation and adaptation.
The postdoc fellow will also contribute to our ongoing project (funded by FORMAS) with (i) Spatial mapping of the type and level of climate risks (flooding, storm, and erosion) expected to occur in different geological and climatic zones within Sweden. (ii) Examining the market implication of the climate change to the property valuation and the financial benefits of doing climate smart retrofits. These kind of information could be beneficial for examples for Bankers in evaluating loan investment risks whereas insurance companies could use such information in deciding the insurance premium.
Besides, the postdoc fellow will have opportunity to collaborate with PhD researchers from developing countries visiting Linnaeus University under the multidisciplinary Doctoral school in Sustainable energy engineering (SEED) research mobility programme.
