Two postdoctoral positions are available in Biao Wang’s laboratory at Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). UCSF, one of the ten campuses of the University of California, is devoted solely to graduate education and research in the health sciences. The CVRI is organized into 8 scientific neighborhoods including metabolism and obesity (https://cvri.ucsf.edu/). Wang’s laboratory focuses on investigations on the transcriptional regulation of thermoregulation and metabolism in adipocytes (Diabetes 2017; Cell Metabolism 2018; Cell Reports 2021).
Areas of interest:
1: Functions of Salt-inducible kinases (SIKs) and their substrates in metabolic tissues.
2: Double-stranded RNA sensing mechanisms in adipocytes and their role in immunometabolism in adipose tissues.
Requirements: Candidates must have received a recent M.D. or Ph.D. or equivalent degree and are familiar with various molecular, cellular, and omic approaches and in vivo animal studies. This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with others with diverse areas of expertise within UCSF campus.
