德国马克斯·普朗克化学能转换研究所博士后职位—生物化学/生物物理学
Postdoc (m/f/d) | Biochemistry or Biophysics
MAX-PLANCK GESELLSCHAFT
Description
The Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (MPI CEC) in Mülheim an der Ruhr studies fundamental chemical processes for energy storage in chemical molecules. The department of “Inorganic Spectroscopy” is presently looking for a candidate for a Postdoc(m/f/d) – Biochemistry or Biophysics.
The position is initially for one year and may be extended by mutual agreement. The start date is negotiable.
Your tasks
The appointed researcher will focus on the application of small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) to understand protein-protein interactions and energy transduction processes in energy converting enzymes. The researcher will be involved in the protein purification and characterization (including activity assays and a wide range of spectroscopic measurements). The researcher will take a lead role in applying for SAXS beamtime proposals, carrying out and executing in situ SAXS measurements, analyzing the data and preparing scientific publications.
Your qualifications
A PhD degree (and possible post-doctoral experience) in experimental biochemistry or biophysics, with previous protein SAXS experience required.
A strong background in biochemistry and/or biophysics
Previous exposure to spectroscopic methods is desirable
Previous experience with stop-flow methods and/or microfluidics is advantageous
Our offer
We offer an international, dynamic working environment in a renowned research institute, family-friendly jobs and flexible working hours. Remuneration is according to TVöD (federal government), in line with your qualifications and professional experience. In addition, the usual social benefits of the public service (federal service) are granted.
