Position Function:
Study the plant physiological alterations caused by viroids. Specifically, design and conduct research, collect and analyze data, manuscript preparation, train graduate, undergraduate, and sometimes visiting high school students.
Salary Grade: UC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is expected to design and conduct research, collect and analyze data, train graduate/ undergraduate/ visiting high school students, as well as manuscript preparation. The main research topic is on elucidating plant-viroid interactions. In this project, the successful candidate will explore viroid RNA structure-based replication and its consequences in influencing the plant gene regulatory network.
Minimum Qualifications:
1) Ph.D. in plant biology-related disciplines 2) Record of scholarly publication
Preferred Qualifications:
1) The successful candidate should master essential experimental skills for molecular biology in studying plant materials. 2) The successful candidate should also have good communication skills for teamwork. 3) The basic bioinformatic skillsets are highly preferred.
