加州大学尔湾分校博士后研究员招聘
Job Description
DESCRIPTION
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Mei Kong in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in the School of Biological Sciences at University of California, Irvine. Qualified candidate will be nominated for a T32 training grant in Cancer Biology & Therapeutics at NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Research in the Kong laboratory focuses on understanding the crosstalk between signaling pathways, metabolic regulation, and epigenetics in tumor cells. We are particularly interested in addressing three questions in the field: 1) how do tumor cells adapt metabolic stress or nutrient deprivation? 2) can diet/metabolites supplementation affect tumor development and therapeutic response? 3) what is the role of protein phosphatases in regulation of metabolic homeostasis during nutrient overload? We apply a combination of mouse genetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics and metabolomics tools, using both in vitro and in vivo models to address those questions. Our ultimate goal is to develop novel therapies to restore normal metabolism and improve treatment for cancer and metabolic diseases (Nat Cell Biol. 18(10):1090; Nat Commun.10(1):809; Mol Cell, 50(2):200-11; Genes & Dev; 30(16):1837 Nat Commun. 11(1):3326; Nature Cancer. 1(3):345-58). Detailed publications from the lab can be found here: https://faculty.sites.uci.edu/meikong/
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and a recent graduate with a PhD, MD/PhD or MD degree with strong academic training in either cell biology, immunology, cancer, epigenetics/genetics, signaling or metabolic related diseases.
