Postdoctoral Fellowship in Behavioral Pharmacology

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at The State University of New York at Buffalo. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to study the behavioral and psychopharmacological effects of novel compounds in animal models of pain and drug abuse.
Our research is dedicated to understand the behavioral neuropharmacological mechanisms of pain and drug addiction and validate potential drug targets for the treatment of pain and substance use disorders. We employ multidisciplinary approaches to incorporate behavioral, pharmacological, genetics and neuroscience techniques in various related animal models to study the mechanisms and treatments of chronic pain and drug addiction.

The ideal candidate will be a recent Ph.D. graduate with a relevant background, e.g., Pharmacology, Neuroscience or Psychology. Animal research experience is important and research experience on animal behaviors, pain or drug abuse-related topics is preferable but not necessary.
Initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of extension pending satisfactory performance. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, laboratory experience and institutional guidelines.
