Postdoctoral Researcher – Spatial transcriptome and single cell sequencing
Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Old Road Campus Research Building, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7DQ Grade 7: £33,309 – £40,927 with a discretionary range to £44,706 per annum
We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with experience in cancer biology and other laboratory techniques relevant, to join the research group of Professor Xin Lu, at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research.
You will work with the research group of Professor Lu and will use spatial transcriptomics combined with single cell RNA-seq to study cellular plasticity, tumour heterogeneity and tumour microenvironment in oesophageal cancer samples. You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols, and test hypotheses and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate.
It is essential that you hold a Hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in a relevant discipline, and have a research background in cancer biology, genomics and or Immunology. You will have experience in cell culture, molecular and cellular biology, and basic molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, sequencing. You will be able to manage own academic research and associated activities, and have a first author publication in an international peer reviewed journal. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
