Description
A postdoctoral position is available to conduct research on the structure and function of neurons and microglia in the brain in animal models of glaucoma as part of a projected funded by the NIH, Research to Prevent Blindness and The Glaucoma Foundation. A Ph.D. in neuroscience (or related field) is required and experience in electrophysiology techniques (especially patch-clamp recording) is preferred. Candidate should have a substantial knowledge of neuroscience and biology as documented by peer-reviewed publication record. Must have strong written and oral presentation skills and be willing to develop those skills further. The ideal candidate will be motivated to contribute to ongoing research projects and will have the opportunity to develop novel lines of investigation and apply for independent fellowship funding from the NIH and/or other relevant private foundations. Will attend regional and international scientific conferences to present work and network with professional colleagues and will participate in training junior colleagues in the lab.
