NIH T32 Training Grant in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Positions in the University of Pittsburgh – NIH T32 Training Grant in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine, led by Dr. Juan C. Celedón, is available. Our Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine research training program includes a diverse faculty with interest and expertise in virtually all aspects of pulmonary research, including diseases such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, and acute lung injury.
This formal 2-year research program is aimed at qualified fellows who have an M.D. or Ph.D. or an equivalent degree, and it is designed to prepare trainees for a career in clinical, translational, or basic science research in an academic environment. For MDs, training occurs as part of the Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship Program at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh located in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
Clinical fellows would complete the program in their second and third years of training. For PhD candidates, the applicant could have expertise in any of the following areas: Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, Epidemiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Immunology. Program cores include biostatistics and epidemiology, genetics and epigenetics, and immunology.
