美国西奈山伊坎医学院博士后招聘–细胞/分子生物学和/或生理学方向
We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow who will work in the laboratory of Dr. Babu Padanilam in the Department of Urology, at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY. The research in the laboratory focuses on elucidating the physiologic and molecular mechanisms regulating acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Regulation of glycolysis and fatty acid oxidation leading to energy depletion and cell death in AKI is a major focus.
The role of renal nerves and nerve derived factors and their signaling pathways regulating inflammation and fibrosis in the pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is another area of interest. Targeting novel drugs to specific renal cells is another area of interest.
The principal duties of the post-doctoral fellow will be to use in vitro and in vivo tools to assess the functional/mechanistic role of various molecules to prevent cell death and renal fibrogenesis and to exploit those insights to develop new preventative measures and therapies in AKI and CKD.
The post-doctoral fellow will design and execute experiments to achieve the above goals. The successful applicant should have relevant scientific education (PhD degree in Cellular/Molecular Biology, and/or Physiology) with scientific background in acute and chronic kidney disease and strong written and oral communication skills.
Prior experience in developing animal models of acute and chronic kidney diseases will be preferred. Applicants with experience in studying renal or prostate cancer research will also be considered for a second post-doctoral position.
Applications will be considered as they arrive. A cover letter, CV and a selection of published or unpublished articles should be attached to your on-line application.
