The Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work with Dr. Pengyue Zhang on developing and implementing biomedical informatics and biostatistics methods and algorithms for analyzing and integrating data from multiple resources to enable discovery of new adverse drug events, drug-drug interactions, and repurposable drugs.
Dr. Pengyue Zhang conducts research in the field of biostatistics, biomedical informatics and data mining with special focus on detecting novel drug effect from large-scale health data. Dr. Zhang is co-leading a NIH funded R01 research project (https: // reporter.nih.gov/search/E4lzmVmQuk2qer4fANs3hQ/project- details/10185087), in which Dr. Zhang will develop a Bayesian approach for early adverse drug event detection. Basic Qualifications
Doctorate or terminal degree required. The candidate should be highly motivated with a PhD in any of the following areas of biomedical informatics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, machine learning/AI, data science, mathematics, and/or related areas are encouraged to apply. The candidate is expected to be skilled in large-scale electronic health data analysis and computer programming (R and Python) with demonstrated publication records. The candidate should also demonstrate good communication skills and scientific writing capability.
