Job Description
A postdoctoral research associate or more senior research position is available in the group of Jonathan Conway in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Princeton University to study and engineer plant-microbe interactions.
In the Conway Lab at Princeton University, we are interested in discovering and manipulating the mechanisms of plant-microbe interactions using a variety of molecular and genetic engineering approaches. Current work is focused on plant-microbe interactions in three broad areas: chemical communication between plants and microbes, microbiome interactions with the plant immune system, and plant-microbe responses to environmental stress. More information about the lab can be found at https://conwaylab.princeton.edu.
Initial appointments are for one year, with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and available funding. Individuals must have a PhD with appropriate research experience in chemical engineering, biomolecular engineering, molecular biology, bacterial genetics, plant-microbe interactions, bioinformatics, microbiology, plant biology, or a related field. The successful candidate will be motivated, independent, have strong writing and communication skills, and be prepared to work in a dynamic team environment.
Princeton University is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. We actively seek students, faculty, and staff of exceptional ability and promise who share in our commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship, and who will bring a diversity of viewpoints and cultures.
In doing so, we encourage applications from individuals whose personal identities, backgrounds and/or interests (as demonstrated by their research, service, mentoring and/or advising) align with our commitments and will contribute to the excellence and diversity, in its broadest terms, of our department.
Applicants should apply at: https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/23864 and include a cover letter (including a description of their past research, expertise, and future research interests), CV (including a list of publications), and contact information for three references.
This position is subject to the University’s background check policy. Princeton University is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
