Subject area description
Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management of Intellectual Assets is a subject to analyse and explain innovation processes, their determinants and social and economic outcomes.
This project will study how and why university incubators contribute to regional entrepreneurial development. The focus is upon analyzing these processes whereby university incubators do and can stimulate entrepreneurs which are active within knowledge-intensive innovation ecosystems bounded by technology and regions in a global world. The first sub-project is conducted by gathering data based on a design of a comparative quantitative analysis between two innovation ecosystems. One of which should be an ecosystem sector which is primarily based upon natural resource and the second one which is heavily dependent upon advanced engineering technologies, such as AI. This quantitative research design will be followed up by a second sub-project which strives to verify the quantitative results through a pilot case study design, preferably across Nordic countries. The project tasks are thus multi-method, which includes collecting large amounts of data and also conducting quantitative analysis, with this specified comparison as well as interviews and qualitative research design.
