美国布鲁克海文国家实验室博士后职位—电化学储能
Postdoctoral Res Assoc. Upton, NY
Brookhaven National Laboratory
Description
Postdoctoral Res Assoc.
Organizational Overview
The Electrochemical Energy Storage group carries out research on advanced materials for batteries including Li-metal, Li-S, Li-ion, and Na-ion batteries. The group has an extensive history in the development of synchrotron-based in situ x-ray diagnostic tools for research on battery materials such as time or/and spatial resolved x-ray scattering, x-ray spectroscopy and x-ray microscopy. X-ray techniques are also combined with neutron-based scattering techniques and electron-based imaging techniques for battery research. The group also carries out research in both liquid electrolyte and solid electrolyte. The group is a member of the VTO Battery500 consortium of USDOE. For more information, please visit the group website: https:// www. bnl.gov/chemistry/EES/.
Position Description
The Chemistry Division is seeking exceptional candidates for a two-year term Research Associate position in the Electrochemical Energy Storage (EES) group, in the field of battery research. The successful applicant will work on the synthesis, characterization, and development of battery materials, including cathode, liquid electrolyte, and solid electrolyte. The successful applicant is expected to be experienced in the synthesis of organic materials for batteries, especially polymers. Experience in developing advanced liquid and solid electrolytes for low and high temperature applications is needed. The successful applicant is expected to have experience in developing in operando techniques for characterizing the electrolyte and cathode materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop liquid and solid electrolyte for battery research projects in the EES group. Develop and coordinate collaborative research with collaborators from other research institutions, as well as from industrial companies. Prepare and write manuscripts for publications in scientific journals and present research results in scientific conferences and DOE program review meetings.
Position Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A PhD degree in relevant fields (e.g. Chemistry, Material Science and Engineering, Physics, Physical Chemistry, Electrochemistry and Chemical engineering) is required.
A minimum of three years of research experience (including the graduate research) in rechargeable battery research field.
Knowledge and hands-on experience in synthesizing inorganic, organic and polymer battery materials.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with fundamental electrochemical characterization.
Good English writing and oral skills for publications and presentations.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in solid state electrolyte synthesis and characterization.
Knowledge of lithium metal and other metal anodes for rechargeable batteries.
Experience with characterization techniques such as SEM, AFM, Infrared spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy.
