德国欧洲分子生物学实验室(EMBL)细胞生物学、生物信息学、数字建模等方向博士后
Postdoctoral Fellow
European Molecular Biology Laboratory
Description
Postdoctoral Fellow Location: Heidelberg, Germany
Staff Category: Postdoctoral Fellow Contract Duration: 2 years Grading: Stipend Closing Date: 1 January 2022 Reference Number: HD02076
The Watt group at EMBL Heidelberg is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow. The group is exploring cell fate decisions in adult mammalian skin, using cell culture and mouse models. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to study the dynamics of exit from the epidermal stem cell compartment via live cell imaging of FRET sensors in vivo (in mice) and in reconstituted human epidermis in culture. The goal of the work is to integrate single cell RNA sequencing datasets with wet lab experiments to gain new mechanistic insights into tissue homeostasis and repair. The following references provide examples of the approaches used in the lab: Hiratsuka, T., et al (2020) Proc. Natl Acad. Sci. USA, Proc. Natl Acad. Sci. USA 117:17796-17807. doi: 10.1073/pnas.2006965117. PMID: 32651268. Reynolds, G., et al (2021) Science 371(6527):eaba6500. doi: 10.1126/science.aba6500.PMID: 33479125.

What else you need to know
EMBL is Europe’s flagship research laboratory for the life sciences – an intergovernmental organisation performing scientific research in disciplines including molecular biology, physics, chemistry and computer science. We are an international, innovative and interdisciplinary laboratory with approximately 2000 employees from many nations, operating across six sites, in Heidelberg (HQ), Barcelona, Hinxton near Cambridge, Hamburg, Grenoble and Rome. Our other missions are to offer vital services in training scientists, students and visitors at all levels; to develop new instruments and methods in the life sciences and actively engage in technology transfer activities, and to integrate European life science research. The working language of the institute is English.
