Summary
A Postdoctoral Associate position in cancer immunotherapy is available at the Center for Advanced Innate Cell Therapy within the Texas Children’ s Cancer Center. The project is funded by a recently awarded major grant from the US Department of Defense aiming to develop and clinically test novel CAR-redirected immunotherapy for pediatric solid tumors. We offer outstanding state-of-the-art, recently expanded laboratory facilities and a highly interactive environment for basic, translational, and clinical investigators. Ideal candidates will have have a PhD degree and an expertise in tumor immunology with a documented record of productivity.
Job Duties
•Design and conduct the experiments related to the project with the help of the mentor and other team members of the Metelitsa Lab.
•Analyze the data and present the evolving results at weekly laboratory meetings and research seminars of the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy.
•Document the details of the experiments and the findings in electronic laboratory notebook.
Minimum Qualifications
•Ph.D. in immunology, genetic engineering or related fields.
•Great fund of knowledge of tumor immunology principles.
•Understanding basic genetic engineering techniques (transfection, retroviral / lentiviral transduction, transposition, CRISPR-Cas9).
