Required Related Experience
• Experience in optical system design for imaging in free space or biological tissues. • Programming skills: Zemax, Code V, Solidworks, Auto CAD, Matlab. • Familiar with laser diodes, lenses, mirrors, photo detectors, CCD/CMOS cameras. • Familiar with finite element methods (FEM).

Shift
8am-5pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
Job Summary
The Bio-Optical Imaging Laboratory in the F. Joseph Halcomb III, M.D. Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a postdoctoral position, supported by NIH grants (R01s, R21s, and R56). The Lab develops near-infrared optical technologies for continuous imaging of blood flow, oxygenation and oxygen metabolism in normal and diseased tissues of animals and humans. Responsibilities consist of design and development of optical spectroscopic and tomographic systems, data analysis, image reconstruction, and in vivo measurements of tissue hemodynamics, and metabolism. This position will also provide a unique opportunity to gain experience in a multidisciplinary research environment. The initial appointment will be for a 12-month period, with possibility of extension based on performance and the availability of funding.
